Grissini @ Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel – Media Invite

Grissini (transl. bread sticks), situated at the ground floor of Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Unlike most other Italian restaurants, Chef Antonio belts out some of the Southern Italian Signatures. So, be prepared to be pampered with seafood themed dishes, as well as the much anticipated grills straight from the Josper Oven.

one of the few Italian joints that offers a decent selection of charcuterie & cheeses, has a pretty balanced variety of pastas & pizzas, and juicy delicious proteins (ranch or coast). Not to mention, select wines that go well with the course of meal.

I should think this is a place to be, if you need to impress someone over a quiet classy & comforting meal.

Fumée by Habanos – Media Invite

Fumée is a spanking new multi-faceted wine & dine establishment brought to you by the founders of Habanos The Fine Cigar People (situated at Suntec City), Helen & Natalie. It has an alfresco terrace dining zone, spacious lounge area (entertained by live band performances Tuesdays onwards), high table & chair seating, a cozy chic dining zone, as well as a smoking gallery for cigar appreciation to boot.

All in all, Fumée is well positioned in many aspects of the operation, and the treats they have to offer on and off the menu. If I were to be working in the vicinity, I can envisage my colleagues & I patronizing on a pretty regular basis. So, for readers within the vicinity, try them out, if you haven’t.

Ash & Elm, InterContinental Singapore – Media Invite

Ash & Elm is now the new incarnation of where Olive Tree once stood. In all, there are three theatres in full public view; a full glass windowed charcuterie and cheese room that holds like two dozen variants of cured meats, seafood, and visibly at least 10 types of cheeses, a wood-fired oven for breads and baked dishes, and a lengthy open-grill kitchen for all to marvel in anticipation for food to be served. Not far from the main event, there is a standalone dessert station where the elaborately plated sweets are presented to cap the meal.

Some say the way to a man’s heart is through the stomach. Given the amount of space & privacy, it’s pretty appropriate for couples dining. A place to pamper your significant other. Ladies, if your man is to shower you with gifts, be nice, do unto him as you would him to you… feed him well.
