All in all, I find the ambiance to be somewhat calming, while the waiting staff are busily running the floor, I can see myself revisiting for sips on their cocktails, or feasting on their Classic Pizzas, especially the Margherita DOP, come to think of it, I shall try out their pastas too.
Straits Café is a go-to place for buffet within proximity of Bras Basar & Bencoolen MRT, for buffets. They’ve been known for their feature of their Malaccan straits food, as well as select glimpses of Malaysian dishes.
At Sea & Blue, they offer nothing but buffet. Operating hours is split specifically for lunch & dinner. Sawadee Thai Cuisine was established since 2001 in the northern sector of the island, they re-positioned themselves (physically & brand-wise) at Tan Quee Lan Street in 2013. In all these years since, the management prides itself in offering the finer side of Thai cuisines, and revamped some street/ home kitchen dishes.
In terms of Korean concept buffet, I must say that they that they got my heart racing. Easily more than 50 items in the line-up, protein inclined, 12 different flavors of marinated pork belly, with select variety of marinated beef, chicken & fish. There’s also a good selection of vegetables, funghi, as well as condiments & sauces. The name is quite self-explanatory, as the menu offers authentic Hunan dishes, from the central plains of mainland China. Though, not all ingredients are available in this archipelago, the management endeavors to adhere as close as it gets to the original recipes, or so, the chefs insist.
Most restaurants in town would be super packed during lunch & dinner, and reservations sometimes can disappoint as well. But many forget that there are restaurants in hotels, and usually less crowded than in commercial buildings. Having considered the ambience, quality of food, portion size, services rendered, and price point; I feel it is good bang-for-buck to be dining at Cook & Brew
They’re a simple & cozy little joint that seats about 35-40 inside, and another 12-16 outside, indoor is fully air-conditioned offering respite from our tropical climate. Now, while the year-end is wet & chilly, having some comforting BKT is pretty appropriate. They operate daily from lunch till 2am, so I guess is a place to visit for after parties too.

Grissini (transl. bread sticks), situated at the ground floor of Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Unlike most other Italian restaurants, Chef Antonio belts out some of the Southern Italian Signatures. So, be prepared to be pampered with seafood themed dishes, as well as the much anticipated grills straight from the Josper Oven.
one of the few Italian joints that offers a decent selection of charcuterie & cheeses, has a pretty balanced variety of pastas & pizzas, and juicy delicious proteins (ranch or coast). Not to mention, select wines that go well with the course of meal.
I should think this is a place to be, if you need to impress someone over a quiet classy & comforting meal.
Legend Seafood is a very young establishment that offers a slight twist to the typical Zi Char 煮炒 menu. Situated at New Century Food House (the arched coffee shop) along Bishan Street 11.
Legend Seafood operates for lunch & dinner till late daily. The bold attempt to innovate with ingredients, experimentation of tastes, I should think there will be more interesting dishes to be rolled out in due course.
